EN Blue vastness within the frame..., Lost in carefree reverie..., Α gentle ostro-scirocco breeze carries their voices. Dolphins, gracefully passing by in the open sea..., αnd they, too, marvel..., Lying on the pebbles of the beach..., side by side with their heads touching ..., their feet playfully entwined ..., and the world, for a brief moment, ceases to spin..., and they feel and they are filled with bliss!!!!

The acoustic signals of dolphins have recently been found to correspond to a set of frequencies incomprehensible to the naked ear, but understood between one dolphin and another. These frequencies amount to a sort of alphabet, where discrete noises, when chained together, seem able to form a kind of language only legible by cetaceans who are familiar with each other's lived environment.

Apart from their communicative acumen, however, dolphins have long occupied a special place within the collective imagination of those who like to let their minds roam over deep blue vistas and aquarian fauna.

On this next release from Balearic Ensemble, new artist Lab Infinity sets out to persuade you of the eternal ellipses that might spring forth from an afternoon at leisure, head firmly nestled in the fantasy of freedom invoked by our mammalian friends. We're proud to present 'Il Delfino', sitting somewhere between an Italian library excursion from the 70s and an afternoon dip in ultra-balearic waters.

A breathtaking vocal performance is provided by a certain Nina K, who whispers gratitudes to the winds that carry il delfino's waves in sultry, spoken word stanzas that curl above the surf. And a stray listener, should they be curious, may well treat themselves to two versions of this mammalian fantasy, with the L'Onda Dub Instrumental Mix stripping back the busier elements for a deep meditation on the Mediterranean waves.

May the tide swell softly on the other side. Il Delfino is out now on Balearic Ensemble.
